ICT Projects Coordinator and Faculty member.

  • Responsible for the coordination of technology projects at our school; this includes training for other instructors and the piloting of projects with students enrolled in our school.
  • Responsible for delivering integrated language courses at all levels within the school study program.
  • Responsible for tutoring students in their induction program to public schools (known as “Experiencias Laborales“).
  • Member of a cross-departmental task force to foster the pedagogical use of media and technology. Our projects target both students at the School of Education, the larger UAH community and beyond.
  • Involved / leading in research projects to be published in 2011.

  • Taught EFL language courses for all different levels
  • Coordinated language courses: teams of up to 7 instructors
  • Started organizing and training teachers in the use of digital tools such as Google documents and spreadsheets.
2004-2005 Ministerio de Educación de Chile (MINEDUC). Inglés Abre Puertas. Santiago, Chile. Full-time consultant.

  • Coordinated city level workshops across the country: this involved coordinating actions from MINEDUC’s central level and CPEIP with each City Hall enrolled in the program during 2 years: along with administering the program, I was responsible for the design of teachers’ instructional development, local visits to support the program and teachers’ projects and the delivery of an instructional CDROM on how to best teach listening and reading skills.
  • Coordinated International Courses for Chilean EFL Teachers: this involved setting new standards for the selection of participating universities in all continents and elaborating new procedures for the tender and final selection process both for universities and Chilean applicants.
2003 – 2004 Greyston Foundation’s Technology Center. Yonkers, NY, USA.
Curriculum Designer and Instructor.

  • Responsible for reviewing and collaborating in the design of a program on literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership for African-American teenagers living in Yonkers (ranked as one of the poorest cities in the US, 2003)
  • Responsible for delivering the program with the assistance of the Technology Center staff. Our target population successfully completed the program, rendering a number of different projects where their narrative took diverse modes of expressions, all aided by the use of technology applications.
  • Assisted Pre-K children in the use of computers for games and drawing.
  • Delivered the course “Back to Work” for unemployed professional adults in the City of Yonkers.

  • Taught GMAT, TOEFL, and IELTS for students applying for graduate degrees overseas.
  • Trained teachers in methodologies to use in the teaching and coaching for the above mentioned examinations.
  • Developed web-based and intranet-based applications for the administration of pedagogical and management resources.
